This Sunday - July 20 is the tenth Sunday after Pentecost. We are going to begin a series looking at the Lord's Prayer in Luke's gospel. Luke is kind of a shorthand version of Matthew's. I am calling the series The Basics of Life. Life is hard and Jesus had some choice words about religious leaders who try to make the Christian life burdensome. Luke's Lord's Prayer gives us a rubric not only for praying but also for living the Christian life. Check it out and come and join the conversation. See you in church!

Spiritual gifts - grace gifts - given to us by the Holy Spirit - are present as we come to worship. Worship is the most important activity of our week. When we come to worship we expect to see and experience the gifts in action! There is prophecy, serving, encouragement and giving. Knowing there are spiritual gifts changes our attitude: we come expecting God to work through his people. We experience the presence of Jesus through the various giftings of the body of Christ. It makes for an exciting time of worship, fellowship and service!

What is your grace mix? What is the grace mix of your church? God is the dispenser of grace gifts. He knows what we need. Just as the hills were alive with the sound of music in the musical of the same name so the chuch is alive with the grace gifts of the Spirit!
